Reducing the carbon footprint in the industry

  • Advanced Manufacturing
Nine million people around the world die each year from diseases related to environmental pollution; over a million species are in danger of extinction; and the temperature of the planet is due to rise by three degrees by the end of this century. Pollution, loss of biodiversity and climate alteration is the triple threat we’re facing due to climate change, according to a report by the UN.

OEE systems: find out the real performance of your plant

  • Advanced Manufacturing
In the industrial sector, being aware of our plant’s profitability is key in order to remain competitive, even more so, in this new digital ecosystem, where remote work has been incorporated into our day-to-day life making it necessary to use artificial intelligence technology and sensorization so that we can be more efficient. In this sense, having KPIs that can measure production efficiency so that we can introduce corrective measures is absolutely vital.

The imperative IT/OT convergence in the industrial sector to make progress with digitization

  • Internet of Things (IoT)
There’s still quite a way to go in the industrial sector’s journey towards digitization. Many companies, especially the smallest ones, don’t have segregated IT (Information Technology) and OT (Operational Technology) networks, instead, all of the equipment is connected to one single network which leads directly to the Internet. In others, generally the largest ones, the workshop’s network is separated from the office’s network by means of a firewall, making it possible to control communication between the two worlds in a very granular manner.
