At Fabtech 2016, the IT expert’ Lantek, presents the "Lantek Factory" concept for "Industry 4.0" and "intelligent manufacturing."
Delivering quality at short notice and cost-effectively, while still working profitably: This is the challenge facing metal companies - from medium-sized contract manufacturers to large companies. Those who want to compete must be flexible. There is no way past the digitalization. The software expert, Lantek, develops individual solutions that fit the customer and his financial possibilities and, if necessary, also grows with them. To be seen at Fabtech 2016.
"Industry 4.0" is anything other than a fashion trend. The ultimate goal: The intelligent factory, where all processes are coordinated and their engineering systems control an adaptive manufacturing, reacts to changes or changing requirements. Even for small businesses, increasing efficiency and profitability by using technical systems is no Utopia. With the modular software solutions from Lantek, metal-processing companies of all sizes can make their processes more efficient. From individual aspects in production and administration to the overall concept, "Lantek Factory” links production, technical planning processes, purchasing, and distribution. And, according to the principle of "Manufacturing Intelligence," it is possible to establish a vertical relationship between the data flows at enterprise level (ERP) and production level (MES).
Lantek has over 30 years of experience in sheet metal-processing and is one of the world’s market leaders with its machine-independent CAD-/CAM-/MES-/ERP-solutions for the metal industry. More than 18,000 customers in over 100 countries rely on the software of the international company with 15 country offices.
Its offer is fully in line with the trade fair, it will be presented from November 16 to 18 in Las Vegas, USA. Stand C23074. Lantek will present its machine-independent software solutions for sheet metal and steel processing - and will also enable its guests to experience Virtual Reality. In a playful simulation of the Lantek Factory concept, attendees can also use a headset to learn how software from Lantek makes the processes in a metal factory more efficient.
Optimal material utilization
Lantek CAD / CAM systems allow the control of pipe, profile, and sheet metal cutting machines (oxy fuel, plasma, laser and waterjet technology), as well as shearing and punching machines. These are optimized for optimum material utilization through sophisticated calculation algorithms, shortened cutting times, and machining sequences. For example, the automatic geometry recognition for multiple parts reduces programming. Interfaces to more than 1,000 machine types allow the control of all processes from a single surface. Strategic management decisions are supported by validation systems with real time data on the utilization of the entire system, for companies with several locations and also for all plants and facilities. With dynamic price management, companies can set different surcharges for various costs or contract terms for all costs and define fixed or percentage margins.
Management systems that meet the specific requirements of the metalworking industry cover all production and delivery processes and allow the status of each element to be integrated at any time. User interfaces integrate all company-specific systems. And since many orders are not finalized, Lantek software does not only offer an open database for reordering parts or production orders, but also advanced return management and the management of reusable packaging.
Lantek thinks even further: The IT expert will integrate its solutions into the extended capacities of 64-bit microprocessors and bring its software Lantek Expert natively for 64 bits onto the market. At the launch of the Global Release 2017, it will be released together with the 32-bit version, enabling customers to make the best use of their servers and computers.
During Fabtech 2016, Lantek will be at the Bystronic booth C35069. Lantek will show the new “Bystronic MES powered by Lantek” software system.
