Lantek, multinational focused on the development and commercialization of CAD/CAM/MES/ERP software solutions and pioneer in the digital transformation of metal fabricators, has announced the addition of Motofil as a manufacturing partner. Motofil, a major Portuguese cutting machine manufacturer with 40 years of market experience and a global presence will join Lantek’s other partners by installing Lantek technology on its machines.
Motofil’s high precision fiber laser cutting machine for sheet metal (carbon steel, stainless steel, brass, aluminium, and copper).
Both companies have signed a distribution agreement under which the Motofil’s oxycut, plasma, waterjet, and laser cutting machines will include Lantek Expert and Lantek Flex 3D software along with all the company’s other machinery.
Thanks to this partnership, Motofil will benefit from having a single software system for all its machinery allowing it to further simplify, automate, and streamline its clients’ manufacturing operations. In addition, it opens the door to new collaborative opportunities for optimizing existing machines and analyzing more options in the development and innovation of new machine models.
By integrating Lantek solutions, Motofil has taken a further step in its quest to automate today’s manufacturers and, with the scalability and flexibility of Lantek technology, prepare for tomorrow.
This partnership will make Lantek’s skills and local knowledge available to a wider client base, supporting them in international markets. Additionally, Motofil will be able to offer its clients a commercial solution that uses the most advanced nesting algorithms and machining strategies (Thinkingmetal Technology), delivering the performance required to meet their needs with optimal results.
Lantek’s agreement with Motofil will enable it to strengthen its presence not only in the Portuguese market, but also where the manufacturer operates, especially Europe and South America, and in the Community of Portuguese Language Countries, including Brazil, Angola and Cape Verde.
"We believe that the Lantek team and technology are a perfect match for Motofil’s culture and goals and that they complement each other," explains Rui Cancela, technical director of Motofil. “We want to pave the way in the industry so that it can make the leap towards smart technological evolution. In Lantek, we have found the perfect ally to help clients get the most out of our machines and take confident strides towards advanced and future manufacturing for increased competitiveness."
Ultimately, both companies stand to benefit, not only in terms of technology and functionality, but also in terms of business. Together, Motofil and Lantek will be able to better cater for opportunities and growth in the sector, while also meeting market demands in terms of productivity and efficiency.
"Lantek has a track record of collaborating in different ways with machine-tool manufacturers, both commercially and technologically. We are delighted that our software is to be at the heart of the machines at Motofil. This agreement reaffirms the alliance strategy we have always been committed to with over 100 manufacturers already placing their trust in us to take their machines to a new level. This is especially important at times like the present, where process simplification and improved interoperability are critical in helping businesses to move towards future manufacturing and increased competitiveness," concludes Francisco Pérez, director of Lantek’s OEM Channel.
