Lantek will be bringing its world class solutions for the sheet metal and fabrication industries to the Northern Manufacturing exhibition, which runs from the 2nd to 3rd October in Manchester. Located on stand J56, Lantek will be showing the 2013 version of its Lantek Expert CADCAM software which incorporates new ‘ThinkingMetal Technology’ artificial intelligence algorithm. This produces significant improvements in nesting efficiency and cutting methodology resulting in savings in both material and production time. New functions include sheet turning, the ability to reorder cutting operations and the rectangular cutting of the skeleton of the metal sheet.
In addition, visitors will be able to see the Lantek Flex3d software which has been redeveloped to enable it to share data with the vast majority of CAD and BIM software available in the market. The optimised user interface gives improved simulation and turret management as well as advances in 5-axis technology allowing inclined cutting in corners and speed control for water jet machines, resulting in the ideal cutting parameters being used every time.
Options to connect to a company’s management and CAD systems have been increased, with the new version, using XML, DWG/DXF, SAT, IGES and STEP. These make it possible to tailor the level of integration to suit the individual user and to phase its introduction to ensure that it is effective and productive. Other data exchange improvements allow the import of hole locations in tubes, and drilled holes in standard section profiles such as I, U, L and T.
Lantek Integra provides companies with the management tools to provide accurate quotations, track progress through the workshop, control customer relationships, sales performance, costs, inventory, traceability, profitability and banking. Fully integrated with all of Lantek’s suite of software and able to be integrated with a company’s existing management systems, Lantek Integra helps managers to operate their companies more efficiently with less administrative effort. New in 2013 is the touch screen validation of job progress through the workshop and with the ‘Avantia Services’ API the real time updating of information, even on mobile devices, providing managers with an instant snapshot of production status.
For companies in the structural steel industry, the Lantek Steelworks system links with leading Building Information Modelling systems. It uses the shared data to build a project plan including budgets, financial forecasting, purchasing, production control, certification and reporting, allowing managers to have full visibility of the key phases of a project, turning it from a design, through the suite of software, to finished components ready for construction.
