A new partnership makes cutting machines even more efficient: Bosch Rexroth, worldwide leading in control and drive technology, and Lantek, worldwide leading in machine-independent CAD/CAM solutions for the sheet metal section, are cooperating for the perfect solution for the economical use of contour cutting machines. Therefore, Bosch Rexroth integrates Lantek Expert Inside in its MTX CNC system. The result can be seen at EuroBLECH.
The MTX CNC system from Bosch Rexroth is a powerful solution for controlling machine tools of different machining concepts. Its advantages: high computing performance, adaptability to customer requirements, openness and extensive communication options.
In addition to a powerful CNC, it is also important for the machine operator how efficiently and reliably new machining programs can be created. For the economical use of cutting machines, especially in the field of shop-floor CNC programming, Bosch Rexroth and Lantek will from now on work together. The nesting software Lantek Expert Inside blends in seamlessly into the MTX by Bosch Rexroth thus creating an efficient and reliable bridge from design data to CNC programming.
Software can be operated via the MTX screen
"By integrating Lantek Expert Inside into our MTX, we are combining the most powerful CNC on the market with Lantek’s extensive technological know-how and experience in the shape cutting market," says Hansjörg Sannwald, Head of Market and Product Management CNC Systems. "For the customer, this results in a practical, integrated process chain from the CAD data of the work pieces to the MTX machining programs.”
The software can be conveniently operated via the MTX screen and brings extensive functions to the shop floor: from importing or creating cutting contours, manually or automatically arranging the contours on the sheet, defining lead-in and lead-out strategies to automatically generating and simulating CNC programs during processing.
Special functions provide information on the machine status, simplify operation and enable immediate return to the MTX operating screen at any time. All screen dialogs are designed for touch screen operation. Optionally, it is possible to use the identical programming environment with a virtual MTX on an office PC. Instead of cutting on the real machine, the processes can also be evaluated with the help of a 3D simulation of the machine.
"This cooperation is another step of Lantek to improve the competitiveness of the main players in the metal industry”, says Francisco Pérez, Director of Lantek’s Machine Tool Manufacturers Channel. "For both the manufacturers of cutting machines and end users benefit from greater machine-software integration."
